Seminar: Setting up a DMO in Corfu

Corfu Municipality is organizing a seminar "Problems and challenges in setting up a Destination Management Organization (DMO)" on Monday 21 January at 18:00 at the Chamber of Commerce.

The aim of the event is to create an organization for the promotion and management of Corfu as a tourist resort. Expert speakers have been invited as have tourism organizations and professionals.

The decision of the Municipality to hold consultations on the creation of a Corfu Destination Management Organization was announced at the 2nd Tourism Conference (19-21 October 2018). The decision was taken after studying the parameters and the experience that exists on a Greek and international level and after judging that suitable legal and financial conditions existed. Following this, Corfu Municipality Committee for the Promotion and Development of Tourism agreed unanimously at its second meeting on 13 December to commence consultations. It was decided that the first step would be a seminar in January 2019 with experts presenting and analysing ways to set up this kind of organization.
