Volunteers clean up Almyros beach

CORFU. For World Cleanup Day.
Healthy Little Eaters organised a clean-up of a section of Almyros beach in North Corfu. 15 volunteers took part and in one-and-a-half hours cleaned up 1km of beach, collecting 10 full bags of rubbish!
The volunteers pointed out that these initiatives are of a symbolic nature and in no way replace the refuse collection work of local authorities. "These activities are important for several reasons - members of the public take action, volunteerism is promoted along with the value of working together, public awareness is raised regarding the dumping of rubbish and, of course, young and old have the opportunity to enjoy nature. The slogan is Feel - Think - Act!"
