CORFU. The leader of the ΄Prota i Kerkyra΄ party Giorgos Kaloudis has asked for information regarding airport and port waste.
Mr. Kaloudis sent the Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Mayor the following questions:
Dear Madame Mayor,
There are rumours that Fraport, owned by the German State, has not been paying Corfu Municipality for refuse collection from Capodistrias Airport over the last few years. It is also not known where they dump building rubble.
There are also rumours that waste is collected from cruise ships and other vessels by private companies!
QUESTIONS:
1. Who collects the waste from Corfu Airport?
2. If it is the Municipality, does Fraport pay the proper taxes?
3. Where does the Fraport waste go? If it is to Temploni, does Fraport pay the proper taxes?
4. Who collects the waste from cruise ships at Corfu Port? Does it go to Temploni? Are the proper taxes paid?
