CORFU. The heavy rain combined with strong winds causes tree falls in various parts of the island.
At about 5:30 on Thursday afternoon a large tree fell on Pelekas Road at the junction to Kalafationes.
The tree fell onto electricity cables, resulting in power supply problems in the area.
At noon the weather became a bit better, but in the afternoon the intensity of the rain increased again. The Fire Service was called out to cut and remove fallen trees from several places in Corfu, such as Eth. Paleokastritsa Rd., Kouloura and Ponti.
