North Corfu supports tournament for ‘Pisti’ Association

CORFU. All the North Corfu football academies, as well as many people, were present and there was great contribution.
We, Corfiots, have love and solidarity in our blood and this was shown once again in the charity tournament that took place on Sunday morning in Kassiopi to support the ‘Pisti’ (‘Faith’) Association that helps children with cancer.
All the North Corfu football academies, as well as many people, were present and there was great contribution made both by parents and other people for this cause.
The coach Manolis Rokidis, in collaboration with the referee Vaggelis Yiannakoudakis and with the support of the North Corfu Municipality, the AHEPA, the EPSK (Union of Corfu Football Clubs) and the many people who helped, organised this ‘Event of Love’ with great success.
The Ionian Football Academy Board, as the official organiser of the tournament, decided to establish it and name it after ‘Giorgos Mouzakitis’, the 22-year-old footballer who recently lost his battle with cancer.

The Ionian Academy made the following statement to thank those who contributed to the event:
“The Ionian Football Academy, organiser of the football tournament organised to support the effort of the ‘Pisti’ Association and the children who are fighting cancer, would like to thank EPSK (Union of Corfu Football Clubs), the AHEPA Corfu branch and the North Corfu Municipality, under the auspices of which this ‘Event of Love’ was held with great success!!!
The unanimous decision of Ionian Football Academy Board, the official organiser of the tournament, to make the latter a tradition and name it after our child, our footballer Giorgos Mouzakitis, who lost the fight against cancer, was officially announced at the event.
The Ionian Football Academy would also like to thank the following:
- The Karousades Olympiada FC – PAOK
- Thinaliakos FC
- ‘Achilleas Nymphon’ Sports Club
- Kassios Dias
- Odysseas Avlioton football club
- RO.MA. FC football academy, as well as their coaches, who responded to the call.
It would also like to thank:
- ‘Kassios Dias’ sports club for the excellent hospitality in their football court and the Kassiopi Cultural Sports Club for its help and offer.
-The Referees' Association for providing two referees for the tournament for free.
- The doctors Mr. Hadjidakis and Mr. Doumarapis for their services.
- The priest Ioannis, for his presence, his offer and his kind words.
- Mr. Stathis Mouzakitis for offering the microphones and his personal work.
- Mrs. Nikolina Koskina for the promotional material and her valuable contribution to our effort.
It would also like to congratulate the referee Vaggelis Yiannakoudakis for the opportunity to offer.
And finally, it would like to thank all the people, all these wonderful people for their participation, their help and their love!!!”
