Over 30m passengers at 14 Fraport airports in 2019

ATHENS. There were 3,275,897 arrivals at Corfu ΄Ioannis Capodistrias Airport compared to 3,364,141 in 2018 - a decrease of approximately 2.6%.

The number of passengers at the 14 airports managed by Fraport increased to over 30m in 2109 with Mykonos having the greatest increase compared to the previous year and Kavala the greatest decrease.

According to data from Fraport Greece for the whole year, the total number of passengers at the 14 airports (Aktion, Chania, Corfu, Kavala, Cephalonia, Thessaloniki, Zakynthos, Kos, Mytilene, Mykonos, Rhodes, Samos, Santorini, Skiathos) was 30.15m compared to 29.88m in 2018 - an increase of 0.9%.  There was also a 0.6% increase in the number of flights at the 14 airports - 245,569 compared to 244,201 - although there was a decrease in the month of December.

Thessaloniki Airport had the largest number of passengers - 6.9m (+3.1%) - followed by Rhodes with over 5.54m (-0.5%). Corfu Airport had a total of 3.27m passengers compared to 3.36m in 2018 and Chania had 2.98m (-0.8%).

Mykonos Airport had the greatest increase (8.9%) in the number of passengers with a total of 1.52m and the popular destination of Santorini had a 2% increase with a total of 2.5m passengers.

The exact figures for Corfu Airport were 3,275,897 arrivals compared to 3,364,141 in 2018 - a decrease of approximately 2.6%.

The greater decrease at Corfu AIrport was in the number of international arrivals (-3%) with 2,933,053 compared to 3,023,853 in 2018. There was a 0.8% decrease in domestic arrivals with 340,288 compared to 342,844 in 2018.



There was a small increase - 0.5% - at Zakynthos Airport with 1,810,427 passengers compared to 1,801,297 in 2018.

The greatest number of passengers was from Greece (6.9m) followed by UK (5.4m), Germany (4.3m), Italy (1.7m), Poland (1.25m) and Netherlands (1.24m).

There was a decrease in the month of December with 697,028 arrivals compared to 712,930 in 2018.
