Make a Wish - When a wish lights up the town
CORFU. Every step a wish, every glance a hope.
An evening dedicated to the hope and strength of children. In the heart of Corfu, a special evening turned into a celebration of life. On the occasion of World Wish Day, Make-A-Wish Greece invited us all to a walk filled with light, emotion and childlike energy.
San Rocco Square was flooded with smiles, children's voices, and colours, as people walked with a common purpose: to give voice and strength to the wishes of children who face serious illnesses every day. Every step a wish, every glance a hope.
And just before the walk began, the sirens sounded... A surprise for everyone!
The fire department sirens rang out loudly—not to signal an emergency, but to signal respect. The fire engines appeared in the square, paying tribute to the young heroes. With a thunderous round of applause, the firefighters joined hearts with the children’s, in a moment no one will ever forget.
The conclusion at the illuminated blue Palace of St. Michael and St. George was the highlight of an evening filled with hope. The light illuminated not only the façade of the historic building, but also all our hearts.
Because a child’s wish has the power to change the world. And when it meets love, respect, and unity, it becomes a reality.
