CORFU. International electronic music festival, traditional village fairs, a sardine festival, a concert by Vassilis Papakonstantinou, exhibitions, and religious celebrations make up the rich cultural programme for the second weekend of August.

The second weekend of August finds Corfu at the height of its summer season. On one hand, Corfu Town and the island's tourist resorts host major concerts, international music festivals, and art exhibitions. On the other, the villages keep local traditions alive through fairs (panigiri), celebrations, and religious events that set the tone for the great Feast of the Assumption on 15 August.
