Ionian Islands Regional Authority: Entrepreneurial support workshops 8-26 May

(Ionian Islands Regional Authority) From May 8 to May 26, the Entrepreneurial Discovery process will take place as part of the activation of entrepreneurship support activities under the “IONIAN ISLANDS 2021–2027” Programme, focusing on the priority sectors of the Regional Smart Specialisation Strategy (RIS3) of the Ionian Islands Region.

During this period, a series of Entrepreneurial Discovery Workshops will be organised across all Regional Units of the Ionian Islands by the Ionian Islands Regional Authority and the Special Managing Authority of the “Ionian Islands” programme. These workshops will focus on the strategic priority sectors, with the participation of local authorities, academic institutions, and businesses.

The aim of the workshops is to discuss needs and collect ideas, with an emphasis on innovation and the differentiation of each product/service. These ideas will subsequently be used in the issuance of Calls for Proposals to fund business plans.

A preparatory phase has already taken place, conducted by Advisory Working Groups established specifically for this purpose in the following sectors:

• Agri-food, which includes the products “Olive–Olive Oil,” “Vine–Wine,” “Livestock products (Meat–Cheese),” and “Fishing–Aquaculture,”

• Tourism – Cultural and Creative Economy

• Circular Economy

These groups have drafted an initial position paper, which will be presented for consultation with participants in each workshop.

The coordination of the above Workshops has been undertaken by members of the Ionian Islands Regional Council for Research and Innovation.

All workshops are open to any interested business. Additionally, online participation will be available.
