Study for reconstruction of Kourkoulos Theatre in Paleokastritsa
CORFU. The study concerns the complete reconstruction of the open-air theatre, with the aim of restoring its functionality and aesthetics, as well as creating a modern and safe cultural space.
(Press release) On Friday morning, Mayor Stefanos Poulimenos signed a contract with the appointed contractor to carry out the reconstruction study of the “N. Kourkoulos” Theatre in Paleokastritsa, as part of the Municipality’s ongoing works programme.
The study will focus on the full reconstruction of the open-air theatre, with the goal of restoring both its functionality and aesthetic appeal, while creating a modern and safe cultural venue.
The project is expected to significantly enhance the area’s image and enrich the overall cultural activities within the Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands.
The completed study is expected within two months, after which the necessary approvals and permits will be sought.
Plans are also underway to propose the project for inclusion in the LEADER programme, the call for which is anticipated in the near future.
