CORFU. Corfu didn’t match last year’s performance, but Easter came early this year, and there’s also the war… So, not too bad.

This year’s Easter traffic reached satisfactory levels but remained lower than last year, with available data from the port and airport confirming a slight decline compared to 2025.

The port’s activity appears slightly reduced. Passenger traffic is reported to have dropped by around 5% compared to last year, indicating that this year’s demand did not reach the peak levels of 2025. This trend is also linked to the broader picture of Easter travel from the country’s major ports, where thousands of passenger departures and high occupancy rates were recorded, but without the explosive growth seen in previous years. Overall, it is estimated that approximately 20,000 visitors were in Corfu before the peak days, a figure representing only part of the island’s total capacity.

Similarly, at Corfu Airport, traffic was increased but remained controlled. During Easter Week, at least 27 additional domestic flights were scheduled (12 by Aegean and 15 by Sky Express), using larger aircraft such as Airbus A320 and A321 to meet demand. Flight occupancy is estimated at over 75%, close to 2025 levels but without exceeding them.

In the accommodation sector, hotel occupancy reached around 85%—a high level, though lower than last year’s near “sold out” performance.

Compared to previous years, the trend is clear. 2023 and 2024 marked a period of strong recovery, 2025 saw a peak with exceptionally high flows and occupancy rates, while 2026 shows a mild correction. The slight drop in port traffic, more moderate air travel occupancy, and a decline in advance bookings point to a market that remains strong but more “balanced.”
