CORFU. Public horror following the news posted by the animal welfare group The ARK that a dog had been shot.
A man shot his dog in Agia Kiriaki, Perama on Wednesday evening. The dog was injured but, fortunately, didn't die - managing to get away and hide. A woman who witnessed the incident called the police but the dog couldn't be found.
Following a search it was eventually found and taken to a vet, where it was discovered how seriously injured she was - her body was full of lead shot. She will be kept at the vet's for a few days in the hope that she can survive.
The police are investigating the matter and taking statements from witnesses.
