CORFU. Damage to the water pipe in Lofos Koyevina is being repaired.
(Efthymis Poulimenos) Following a notification from the Police this morning, regarding a serious subsidence of the road surface in Lofos Koyevina, due to a major leak in the main water supply pipeline, we took action immediately to safeguard the public and repair the damage.
After coordination with the Deputy Mayor of Technical Services, Andreas Kardonas, we were promptly on site to assess the situation firsthand and coordinate the necessary actions.
The Municipal Civil Protection Service intervened immediately by implementing initial safety measures.
Crews from Corfu DEYAK responded swiftly, proceeding with the repair of the damage.
The cooperation among all involved services was exemplary.
Tomorrow, a contractor will carry out a complete restoration of the road surface at the site to ensure safe and smooth vehicle traffic.
I would like to sincerely thank:
