“Maps bring people together”

CORFU. Romanian pupils visit Corfu Reading Society as part of the Erasmus programme.
(Corfu Reading Society) A group of pupils from the "Johannes Honterus" College (https://liceulhonterusbrasov.ro/lic/), located in the city of Brașov, Romania, visited Corfu Reading Society, accompanied by their teachers Radu Chiavarean and Anca Paul. They were hosted by Corfu 7th Junior High School as part of a pupil mobility initiative under the European Erasmus programme.
The pupils were given a tour of the Society’s collections and the commemorative exhibition currently hosted on the building’s second floor, marking the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Ionian Academy.
They showed particular interest in the Chart of Rigas Ferraios, which is exhibited in the Society’s map room and includes a section of Romania. As one pupil notably remarked, “Maps bring people together”!
