CORFU. The first visit took place today with pupils from the third year of the 6th Primary School.

A valuable educational tool is once again available to teachers for the benefit of Corfu pupils after approximately 15 years! The Park can also be visited by pupils from schools outside the boundaries of the Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands, upon arrangement with the Department of Education & Lifelong Learning and the person responsible for the operation of the site. Through various interactive and educational games, children will have the opportunity to learn about road safety, the understanding of traffic signs, and responsible behaviour in traffic as pedestrians, cyclists and passengers on public transportation.

The responsible Deputy Mayor, Pantelis Yiannoulis, managed to achieve the reopening of the Park within a relatively short period after taking office and expresses his gratitude to the Central Corfu Municipal Primary Education School Committee for its valuable assistance.

It would be unfair not to mention the contribution of the former Deputy Mayor of Technical Services of the Municipality, Nikos Kalogeros. The next long-standing goal set by the Corfu branch of the Primary Education Teachers’ Association (SEPE) at the local level is the relocation of the KEDASY service.
