CORFU. 1 October 2025 to 31 January 2026.

The Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University, in collaboration with the Hellenic Society for Social Paediatrics and Health Promotion – Corfu Branch and the Medical-Surgical Society of Corfu, is continuing the Music Education Programme for Infants and Toddlers (10 months to 5.5 years old), which has been running at the Corfu Clinic since 2008.

The aim of the programme is to strengthen children’s connection with music, as well as the bond between parents and children through music.

From October 1, 2025 – January 31, 2026, teaching will be carried out by students of the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University (Music Paedagogy Division) — Magda Koulouri, Andrea Kyriakou, Efi Sakellari, and Nicol Fytropoulou — in collaboration with other undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Department. The programme’s scientific supervision and responsibility lie with Professor Zoi Dionysiou, Professor of Music Paedagogy at the Ionian University.

The lessons take place at the Corfu Clinic (Skaramagas Square), once a week for each age group of children, according to the following schedule:

  • Wednesday 4:00–5:00 p.m. – children 3.5–5.5 years old

  • Wednesday 5:00–6:00 p.m. – children 2–3 years old

  • Wednesday 6:00–7:00 p.m. – children 10 months–2 years old

  • Friday 4:00–5:00 p.m. – children 3.5–5.5 years old

  • Friday 5:00–6:00 p.m. – children 2–3 years old

  • Friday 6:00–7:00 p.m. – children 10 months–2 years old

Each group consists of up to 12 children with an equal number of parents/caregivers. The musical activities are based on pαedagogical approaches and materials for preschool children developed by the Music Pαedagogy Department of the Ionian University. Children up to 3.5 years old are accompanied by a parent/caregiver who actively participates. Parents of older children may, if they wish, either participate, remain in the room, or wait in the clinic’s ground-floor waiting area.

Interested parents are invited to register at the Corfu Clinic (Skaramagas Square), Tel. 26610 39615. A suggested contribution in support of the Clinic is €50 per child for the four-month programme (or €80 for two siblings). Part of the fee covers the renewal of the programme’s teaching materials. The amount is paid in full upon registration. Enrollment will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
