Awareness-raising street event for World Alzheimer΄s Day
CORFU. Tuesday 23 September at 12:00 at Pentofanaro.
The Municipality of Central Corfu, through the Deputy Mayor’s Office for Social Protection and Welfare, together with the Municipality of South Corfu, Equal Society, and the project “Equal Opportunities”—part of the “Housing and Work for the Homeless” programme—are organising a street event to mark World Alzheimer’s Day on September 21.
The event, titled “Memory & Life: Learning about Alzheimer’s Disease”, will take place on Tuesday, September 23, at 12:00 p.m. at Pentofanaro. It will feature the active participation of the Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands Municipal Community Centre, including its Roma branch, as well as the South Corfu Municipal Community Centre.
The aim of the initiative is to raise public awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, with the distribution of informational leaflets on symptoms and the importance of early diagnosis for improving quality of life.
This action is part of co-funded programmes supported by Greece and the European Union (European Social Fund), through the “Ionian Islands 2021–2027 Operational Programme” and the “Housing and Work for the Homeless” programme, financed by the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family.
