Mouragia road closing to traffic
CORFU. Announcement from DIADEYAK.
(DIADEYAK announcement) DIADEYAK informs the public that, starting Sunday 02/11/2025, works will take place on Arsenio Street, Mouragia for the replacement of sewage pipes.
Prior consultation has been held by DIADEYAK with all relevant authorities to carry out the necessary works as smoothly as possible, minimising inconvenience to residents, passersby, and local businesses. During the work and until completion, the following construction signage and restrictions will apply in the work area (Arsenio – Agoniston Polytechnio – Capodistriou streets), and their strict compliance is requested.

Arsenio Street, Mouragia: Full closure of traffic on the street for all types of vehicles.

Arsenio Street, from the work area to Donzelot – Palaiologou junction: The street will be converted into a construction site road.

Agoniston Polytechnio Street – Capodistriou Street – Viktoros Douzmani Street: Agoniston Polytechnio Street, from the junction with Viktoros Douzmani Street (Old Fortress entrance) to the end of the street (Liston junction), will be converted into a two-way street. In the downward direction (towards Capodistriou Street), stopping and parking will be allowed for permanent residents of the Old Town. During the works, this street will be used only by Old Town residents.
Capodistriou Street, from its start (Palace Square) to its junction with Sofokleous Douzmani Street (Reading Society), will operate as the downward traffic lane from Agoniston Polytechnio Street. From the Reading Society to its junction with Liston, it will operate as an upward traffic lane, completing the circular flow of vehicles.
Finally, on Capodistriou Street, between its junction with Sofokleous Douzmani Street and the junction with Proskopon Street (Faliraki), only delivery vehicles for local businesses and stopping/parking for permanent residents of the Old Town will be allowed.

Liston Square Car Park: Only the main entrance and exit on Viktoros Douzmani Street will be used.

Horse-drawn vehicles: Entry to their parking area will be via Agoniston Polytechnio Street, with exit via Viktoros Douzmani Street.

Tourist bus traffic: Their circulation will be restricted through appropriate signage and information provided to the relevant authorities.

Heavy vehicles traffic: Movement of heavy vehicles (over 10 tons) is prohibited within the regulated area.

Pedestrian and emergency/official vehicle traffic: All measures do not affect pedestrian or emergency/official vehicle access in the work area. Caution is advised for pedestrians near the Arsenio Street construction site to avoid accidents.
For proper driver information, the relevant warning and regulatory signs will be placed. Drivers are requested to follow the signs in the work area and exercise extra caution to prevent accidents.
