Magical Varkarola at Faliraki: A night when Corfu ΄sang to the sea΄

CORFU. An atmospheric evening filled with Ionian melodies, tradition, and references to the miracle of Saint Spyridon.
The traditional Varkarola was held with great success at Faliraki on Monday, August 10, transforming the waterfront into a dazzling floating stage filled with light, music and emotion.
This long-standing event brought together Ionian melodies with the historical memory of the miracle of Saint Spyridon, who saved the island from the Ottoman siege in 1716, offering residents and visitors a unique spectacle under the direction of Petros Gallias.

The event was organised by the Deputy Mayor for Culture of the Municipality of Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands, the Regional Union of Municipalities of the Ionian Islands (PED-IN), and the Corfu Events Organisation (O.K.E.).
