CORFU. The initiative constitutes a commendable effort for the development of the outward orientation of children as well as the showcasing of their skills.

Beautiful Christmas creations handmade by the pupils of Corfu 2nd Special School await those who wish to visit the school's Christmas bazaar today and tomorrow.

This lovely initiative is being organised once again this year with the aim of engaging, socialising, and activating the pupils. The little elves have been busy in the past few days, creating cookies, wooden decorations, wreaths, candleholders, calendars, New Year charms, and much more with the help of their teachers.

The Christmas bazaar will be open to the public today and tomorrow from 10 in the morning until 6 in the evening at the school premises in Velonades. Posters have already been placed in central locations in the Municipality of North Corfu for better visibility and maximum participation, and other schools in the area have been informed.

School needs

Last year's bazaar was particularly successful, and expectations are similar for this year. The school principal, Christos Kisiotis, told Enimerosi that the proceeds will be used to cover the school's needs for the benefit of its pupils.

In the primary school, there are a total of 13 children, while in the kindergarten, there are three. North Corfu 2nd Special Primary School (formerly Velonades Primary School) opened its doors in Velonades last year after the building was repaired for this purpose. Its establishment was approved in the summer of 2020, so that North Corfu could have its own school for those with special needs.
