Woman, 54, arrested for attempted murder of partner

CORFU. Domestic incident involving a knife in town – prompt police response led to the arrest of the woman involved.
(Ionian Islands Police Department) Police officers arrested a 54-year-old woman on Thursday morning, against whom a case file was formed for attempted murder, as well as for violations of domestic violence and weapons legislation.
In the early hours of today, May 14, the Operations Centre of the Corfu Police Department was informed of an injured person following an incident that took place at a residence in an area on the outskirts of Corfu Town.
Police officers from the Prevention and Mediation Unit immediately went to the scene and, as part of their investigation, determined that the 54-year-old had injured her 57-year-old partner with a sharp object.
The arrested woman will be brought before the Corfu Public Prosecutor for Misdemeanors, while during the investigation a knife was found and seized.
