7 arrests and 92 Highway Code violations in the Ionian Islands on Friday

CORFU. Police have been carrying out checks in the Ionian Islands - 1 arrest for driving under the influence and 6 for driving without a licence.
Police are conducting ongoing checks in the Ionian Islands in an effort to prevent accidents and dangerous driving.
Corfu, Zakynthos and Lefkada police carried out checks on Friday morning (25/9) and arrested one person for driving under the influence and six for driving without licences. There were 92 violations of the Highway Code - 57 in Corfu, 22 in Lefkada and 13 in Zakynthos.
The violations included the following:
- 1 driving under the influence
- 3 jumping red lights
- 11 not using crash helmets
- 19 speeding
- 2 using mobile phone
- 3 without insurance
- 3 not using seat belts
- 2 for MOT
- 48 other violations
