South Corfu majority party councillors also ready to resign
CORFU. The councillors are ready to resign if the Mayor goes ahead with his resignation.
The municipal councillors of the majority faction of the Municipality of South Corfu issued a resolution in which they stated their support for Mayor Vassilis Himariotis, while also announcing that if he resigns, they will follow suit. Specifically, the resolution states:

The undersigned Municipal Councillors of the majority faction of the Municipality of South Corfu hereby declare, through this resolution, our absolute and non-negotiable support for the Mayor, Mr. Vasileios Himariotis, recognising his integrity, diligence, and dedication to resolving the critical issues of our Municipality.
At the same time, we express our intent that, in the event the Mayor chooses to submit his resignation, we unanimously and jointly declare our intention to do the same, by also submitting our resignations from the Municipal Council.
This decision constitutes an act of political consistency and respect toward the Mayor and our shared struggle for a Municipality with integrity, dignity and vision.
