CORFU. The public will be able to drop off recyclables that are separated at the source.

(Central Corfu Municipality) The official launch of the new Green Spot of the Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands Municipality, located at Tria Gefyria (Eptanisou Street), will be held on Saturday, December 6, at 12:00 noon with Mayor Stefanos Poulimenos and  Ionian Islands Regional Governor, Yiannis Trepeklis, at a special event at the facility.

The project was funded by the European INTERREG program “WASTE RREACT” Greece–Albania 2014–2020, with the Ionian Islands Region as the implementing authority, while additional funding was secured from the Municipality’s own resources.

The Small Green Spot represents an important step toward promoting the circular economy and proper waste management on the island. The public will now be able to drop off recyclable materials that have been separated at the source, contributing significantly to reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill.
