MAMATHON returns this year, organised by ΄Lighthouse of Life΄ in Spianada Square

CORFU. The “Lighthouse of Life” association is honoring Mother’s Day with an awareness campaign for voluntary bone marrow donation.
On Sunday, May 10, at 11:15 a.m., Spianada Square will serve as the meeting point for Mamathon 2026. The event, organised by the association “Lighthouse of Life,” is being held on the occasion of Mother’s Day, connecting the symbolism of maternal giving with the hope offered by a volunteer bone marrow donor.
The main focus of the event is a public awareness campaign under the slogan: “Just as a mother gives life, so too does a volunteer donor give hope for life.” During the event, sample collection will take place for those who wish to register as volunteer bone marrow donors, offering a meaningful opportunity for social contribution.
Mamathon 2026 includes a symbolic walk in the heart of the town, open to participants of all ages. The event will conclude with a recreational programme featuring:
Live Music: Danai and Nikolas will provide artistic accompaniment for the event.
Gastronomy: Participants will have the opportunity to taste flavours from the “Krokan” workshop.
The initiative aims to highlight the value of volunteering and strengthen the registry of volunteer donors, reminding everyone that solidarity can be the most precious gift of life. Public participation is considered important for spreading the message and supporting the work of “Lighthouse of Life.”
