Accident involving grab truck at Corfu Central Port
CORFU. The structural integrity of the gate is being assessed by engineers and, as a precaution, passage through the area will remain temporarily closed until the necessary inspections are completed and all damage is fully repaired.
On the Thursday night, May 1st, a grab truck collecting bulky waste collided with the gate of Corfu Central Port while exiting, causing serious damage and detaching part of the structure.
A removal operation for the damaged section was immediately mobilised using a second crane-equipped bucket truck, with the assistance of the Fire Department, the Port Authority, and personnel from the Corfu Port Authority. The structure was safely removed.
