Arrests for drunken driving, forged passports, and noise pollution

CORFU. Police carried out arrests for a road accident, attempted illegal exit from the country, and exceeding the noise limit.

(Ionian Islands Regional Police Department) In the early hours of Monday morning, Corfu Traffic Police arrested a 53-year-old man who, after being involved in a road accident that caused material damage, was found to have been driving under the influence of alcohol. The arrested man was taken to appear before the Corfu Public Prosecutor.

In the last 24 hours, at Corfu Airport passport control, airport police officers arrested two individuals (a 47-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man) in separate cases. Using forged travel documents, they attempted to illegally board flights bound for Germany and France. The arrested individuals were brought before the Corfu Public Prosecutor.

In the last 24 hours, police officers in Zakynthos and Corfu carried out three arrests during inspections aimed at safeguarding public quality of life and enforcing legislation regarding the operation of establishments. Two individuals were arrested in the areas of Tsilivi and Argassi (Zakynthos), and one in Kavos (Corfu). They were acting as managers of catering establishments and were playing music that exceeded the permitted noise limit. The arrested individuals were referred to the competent local Prosecutorial Authorities.
