                                                    CORFU. 217 driving offences.
                                Between 07:00 and 13:00 on 4 October police in Corfu, Zakynthos, Cephalonia and Lefkada carried out checks for the following:
384 vehicles and 470 individuals were checked, leading to 20 arrests - 5 in Corfu, 9 in Zakynthos, 4 in Lefkada and 2 in Cephalonia - for the following offences:
- 2 for stealing electricity
- 1 for harming the environment
- 1 for violating the Building Code
	 
There were also 2 offences of smoking in no smoking areas and 62 items being sold illegally were confiscated.
                            
                            																					                            
                            							
																					                            
                        
	- Theft and burglary
	- Dangerous driving
	- Violations of regulations at catering establishments
	- Drug dealing
- Illegal immigrants384 vehicles and 470 individuals were checked, leading to 20 arrests - 5 in Corfu, 9 in Zakynthos, 4 in Lefkada and 2 in Cephalonia - for the following offences:
	- 4 for illegal residency
	- 9 for driving without a licence
- 3 for illegal trading- 2 for stealing electricity
- 1 for harming the environment
- 1 for violating the Building Code
	There were 217 driving offences, including the following:
	- 2 driving under the influence
	- 47 speeding
	- 11 not wearing seat belts
	- 32 not wearing crash helmet
	- 1 running a red light
	- 2 using mobile phone whilst driving
- 5 driving on wrong side of the road
- 5 driving on wrong side of the road
	- 16 without driving licences
	- 3 with uninsured vehicle
	- 11 without MOT
	 
34 vehicles were immobilised for driving without a licence, driving under the influence, being uninsured, not wearing crash helmets and being without MOT.There were also 2 offences of smoking in no smoking areas and 62 items being sold illegally were confiscated.
